Welcome to The Child Development Academy

The Child Development Academy supports your efforts to nurture your child’s healthy development. Trained staff provides high quality care in a safe and affordable environment, so you can have peace of mind while you work.

The Academy is an exciting and challenging place helping infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children stretch their minds. It is also a safe place for children to build positive friendships with peers. We build on your child’s natural desire to learn and discover. As children progress through the different stages of development, they become more and more independent.

Likewise, we recognize the importance of “Play”. Children learn by actively being involved in a variety of situations and settings. Play offers children opportunities to master their environment and learn new concepts and skills at their own pace. They can take this opportunity to use their imagination and power of choice to determine the conditions of their learning environment. When children are given the opportunity to discover independently, at their own pace and in their own way, they will become enthusiastic, inquisitive learners.

Please take a few minutes to review the Academy’s Website and thank you for your consideration in one of the most important decisions you will make for your child.

Sincerely,

Colleen Kane, M,A. Special Education

Our Philosophy

We strive for an atmosphere that respects the individual differences of children and their parents and yet appreciates the similarities in all of us. The Academy operated on the principles of best practice laid out by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Programming at the Academy is designed to provide children with an enriched, developmentally appropriate environment, from which they can explore experiences that best fit their individual interests and personalities.
